A good place to have a comfortable, casual meal of tapas with friends. Taller de Tapas is only a few years old, but is very popular. For groups of more than 2 people, you will usually have to wait atleast 30 minutes for a table. I would recommend making a reservation for larger groups, and also coming earlier, as the more popular dishes (like fried artichoke hearts and chickpeas with Iberican bacon) are usually sold out later in the night.C/Argentería, 51

Entrance:
There is also outdoor seating in a little square facing the restaurant.
A table full of yummy tapas:

From top left corner clockwise: pan con tomate, fried cod fritters, patatas bravas, sauteed chickpeas, fried calamari, and garlic clams.
Close up of the pan con tomate (€2)

I’ve been wondering what the perfect pan con tomate is. Is it supposed to be soggy or crunchy? Taller de Tapas makes them tough, a little crunchy, a little soggy, soaked with olive oil and smeared with lots of wet tomato.
Garbanzos Salteados con Chipirones Puntilla- Sautéed chickpeas with squid €5.25

Tastes like sauteed chickpeas and squid! Very little seasoning.
Almejas salteados a la Plancha €- Sauteed Clams €9.85

Soft chewy clams sauteed in garlic, butter and olive oil.
Anillas de Calamar a la Andaluza- Calamari €5.5

Chewy calamari dipped and fried in a very thin layer of crispy salted batter.
Patatas Bravas- Fried potatoes with garlic mayonaise and hot paprika sauce €2.95

Big cuts of very soft potato (fried and then served a little late?) topped with creamy garlic mayonnaise sauce and not very spicy tomato sauce.
Sorbete de Limón €3.90

All of the oily fried tapas made me want some of this refreshing icy lemon dessert.
Chocolate Profiteroles €4.40

Soft airy pastry filled with sweet cream and topped with chocolate sauce. A good way to end the meal!

The pan con tomate can be either soggy or crunchy. For mee what is important is: good bread, good tomato (and loot of them) and good olive oil (and salt). Them you mixt as you like and enjoy as soon as possible.

Hi! thanks for answering something I’ve been wondering about forever! So, I guess there is no standard or best pan con tomate? I love crunchy bread, so that’s what I prefer, but most restaurants I went to served the soggy chewy version.
