I had been wanting Korean food for some time, but in one year, this was the only restaurant I made it too…

Visited: 10pm Mon. February 20, 2006
Entrance:
Hanin
Looked pretty Korean, and the workers were all Korean, so the food should be good!

The complimentary appetizer little dishes.
appetizers
From top right clockwise: soft potatoes in soy sauce, spicy cucumbers, spicy kimchi lettuce, and mushrooms? I actually forgot to write that one down. Appetizers were ok.

Man Du- fried vegetable dumplings €4.50

Also tasted fine, light crispy dough and dipped in a soy sauce.

Jap Che €11.80

Koreans seem to eat this as a small side, but I always liked it so much that I wished I could have a big plate of it! This place had it on the menu so of course I ordered it. Normally, this dish is a light sticky noodle with beefy flavors. However, the clear noodles were a bit too dark and soaked in soy sauce and tasted more like a fried chinese noodle (which I didn’t mind).

Bibim Bab €10.80
bibim bab
Another Korean favorite of mine. Rice mixed with shredded beef, veggies, and served with a sweet and spicy bright red sauce that you mix in as well.

Bibm Neng Myon €11.80
noodles
Looks kind of like Bibim Bab but with noodles instead and a boiled egg on top. Very thin angel hair like noodles served cold in a hot sauce. I really like the texture of dry sticky thin noodles.

Being non-Korean I thought the dinner was fine, but my Korean companions did not think so highly of the food. But we’re in Spain! So I thought they did a pretty good job so far from home. I was curious what the Spanish thought, and wasn’t surprised when I saw a poor Spanish kid eating his own plate of a very salty dish meant to be shared and eaten with rice. Hanin actually specializes in Korean bbq but we didn’t try any. Maybe we missed out on the best of their dishes!
