One of the xocolaterias(Catalan) or chocolaterías(Spanish) on c/Petritxol, a street well known for chocolate shops.
It seems that many guidebooks and people point to this tiny street as having many of these stores, but I could only find 2 or 3!
This was the first one that came to my attention.C/Petritxol, 11

At around 6pm on a weekday, this place was packed. We had to wait outside for about 10 minutes to get a table! Seems to be one of the more popular spots for a coffee, chocolate, or churros after work.
Visited: 6:30pm Thur. March 23, 2006
Entrance:
This place has been around since 1947 and has a surprisingly deep seating area which can probably hold up to 50 people.
Chocolate €2.75 each and Churros €1.35 each.

A bitter dark chocolate which needs lots of sugar for personal sweetening. The churros were nice and crispy like they should be. The fresh whipped cream on top was extremely thick and buttery and was unsweetened and milky in flavor.
Overflowing chocolate and cream:

The big mountain of cream makes it really fun to eat!
Even though the chocolate wasn’t very sweet (good for non sweet tooths!), and I like things to be very sweet, I would definitely come back here just so I can have fun scooping out and slurping the fluffy fresh cream and chocolate!
Receipt:
2 xocolata suïssa 2.75 5.50
2 xurros 1.35 2.70
total+tax= €8.20
