Run by the Spanish shoe company Camper (also located right next to a Camper shoe store and Camper Hotel), this little restaurant by the MACBA in the trendy Raval makes balls of food using only natural and healthy organic ingredients. It is mostly vegetarian and completely environmentally friendly right down to the biodegradable cups, plates, and utensils. You can even pour yourself a cup of carbon filtered water from a pitcher with a big stick of carbon in it.
Very Camper.

FoodBall seating
Order at the cashier at the entrance, and bring your tray into an interesting seating area where you sit on big concrete steps and cushions.

A menu #2 €6.99:
1 cold ball + 1 hot ball + 1 sweet ball + 1 coffee or 1 tea.
Café con leche with rice milk and a cup of that carbon water.
From left to right:
The cold ball: Seaweed and tofu (with teriyaki sauce). The hot ball: Seafood Paella. The sweet ball: Carob bean cream muffin.
balls
The salty balls are all made with whole grain rice cooked with “microbiologically pure water”. See previous trip below.
The sweet ball was very dense and chewy and kind of tasted like a corn muffin with a big chunk of some kind of soft chocolatey thing in the center. Like a vacuum compressed chocolate muffin rolled up around a giant soft chocolate chip. The coffee also tasted too much like rice milk, I should have opted for the plain milk.

Cold balls:
Top is the “seaweed and tofu” ball (€1.95)(tofu inside) and bottom is the “woodland fare” ball (€1.95) with mushrooms inside. Soya ginger sauce (€.95) on the side.
balls
Lots of herbs and spices on the outside make these balls taste herby and healthy.

Hot balls:
Left: chickpea ball €2.95
Right: Seafood paella ball €2.95
balls
The chickpea had curryish spices and chickpeas inside and the crispy edged seafood paella one was a ball of paella with some creamy seafood bits inside. Inside of the seafood paella ball.
inside ball
All the balls taste pretty good and aren’t too pricey. Good for a fun afternoon snack on the go.
